I try to shy away from news (with perhaps an exception for factual business news related to my professions) for the reasons that news is so shallow: it changes every day, generally does not give any worthy insights and in nearly all cases does not influence my life. And yes a major earthquake on the other side of the planet is terrible for those involved, but it has no noticeable impact on my life.<\/p>\n<p>PS: People my age spent in general slightly over 1 hour on consuming news per day. Lost productivity if you ask me, unless one actually treats it (via a conscious choice) as entertainment or a way to distract oneself from ones own life. But I believe there are more effective ways to do that.
